Calm Down Strategies

In my last post Social Emotional Learning & Empathy, I talked about the power of the Big Brain and Little Brain lesson. I also mentioned that Sheila Vick and her daughter Elsie, have helped all of my students learn more about the brain and their emotions. My students really enjoyed seeing Elsie’s book filled with her favorite calm down strategies (check it out here), so we figured we would create our own virtual book of strategies (we posted these on Seesaw for all of our parents to see).     I love the idea of personalizing breath. Breathing is an essential component of the practice of Mindfulness. But I did have trouble playing the videos. I wonder why I could access them. hmm….anyhow, love the ideas!
